Just a fraction of the people who become homeless everyday, whether to abuse, a struggling veteran, or a person or family faced with hardship. I am a real life Domestic Violence Survivor. A once strong and independent, entrepreneur business woman who got caught in the continuous cycle of domestic violence. I found myself, broken, scared, and codependent on my abuser, for the cycle just continued to get worse. After needing surgery, hundreds of stitches inside & out and 5 days in the hospital, it was a wake up call. Realizing that what I never thought could go that far, did. I had a choice to make, leave everything or stay, and I am sure if I stayed I wouldn't be here right now starting this new life & company.
Unfortunately, every minute around 20 people become victim's of domestic violence, the cycle of physical, mental and emotional abuse continues in a escalating circle.
By God's Grace and the help of an amazing Mt. Carmel Social Worker, 1 bed opened up in Columbus, Ohio at the perfect time with Restoration Shelter. I can't say enough about these 2 amazing women, who with their own funding, decided to open a small domestic violence shelter, and I owe my life being saved to them.

Upon arriving at Restoration Shelter, I had my backpack with just a few outfits and $18 cash to my name. Most people don't realize, when you leave, there is often no time to prepare or pack. My experience in the shelter was humbling but eye opening, the simple things we take for granted everyday such as accessible hygiene items. I was unable to jump to go out to make any money for myself, I had just had surgery, no work for 6 weeks and my abuser take taken control of my work accounts, monies, etc.
I quickly learned that the #1 needed items where all hygiene, as I myself had none either. No soap, no wash cloth, no shampoo and conditioner, no brush, no toothbrush, no tooth paste, no deodorant, no shavers, no anything for a basic shower. A shower is crucial for health and well-being.
Unfortunately, domestic violence is on the up-rise, along with homelessness for our veteran's, individuals and families with hardship for many reasons. Most assume this is due to drugs or drinking, which is a common assumption. This is simply not the truth in most cases.
I remember my 2nd day at the Shelter, I was asked about putting together a plan for my future. Immediately I remember saying "I want to be part of the solution, for people like myself". A mere 10 months after being in the hospital and still dealing with all the trauma's I faced, I am proud to say that Healing Hope Soaps is Pre-Launching June 1st, 2026 and will begin taking pre-orders that will ship starting on July 6th, 2026.
I have not spent any monies on myself, I still have the same bag of just a few outfits I started with. I have spent months of my time and my resources; researching, working, and putting in the time and effort to create my Formula's, Products, Brand & Company along with Manufacturing.
